"Spontaneous Gifts of Gratitude" - July 12, 2020

We will begin a July sermon series called "Being Grateful in All Seasons."  The series will focus on the book of Psalms.  This weekend's Psalm will be Psalm 13. Pastor Jenny's sermon title is Grateful Even When Asking How Long.

Our scripture is from Jonah 4:1-5.  Pastor Brad's sermon is titled "Poetic Promise."  What does the story of Jonah tell us about God's Mercy? 

"When Our Eyes are Open" - June 21, 2020

Our scripture is from Genesis 21:8-21.  The Genesis scripture is about Hagar, the servant, and her son being cast into the wilderness and yet God opening her eyes to see the provision and blessings of God.  Pastor Jenny's sermon is titled "When Our Eyes Are Open." 

"From Suffering to Hope" - June 14, 2020

This is our Reconciling weekend in which we are celebrating being a Reconciling church that extends a wide welcome to all God's people.  We continue in our series "Challenged by Difference."   Our scripture is Romans 5:1-8.  Pastor Jenny's sermon is titled "From Suffering to Hope."  

"Challenged by Difference" - June 7, 2020

This is Trinity weekend, when we recognize God as our Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer.  It is also the Pentecost season.  We are starting a two-week series called "Challenged by Difference."  Pastor Jenny's sermon this week will focus on race. Together we’ll look to the scriptures and consider what role we can play in learning more about race and how we can be part of the healing in our communities and our world.

"Overwhelming Joy" - 5-24-2020 Sermon

On this last weekend of the Easter season, the scriptures will be Psalm 47 and Luke 24:44-53. Pastor Jenny's sermon is titled, "Overwhelming Joy."  The Gospel reading will share the story of the Ascension of Christ.  We will continue this weekend with our series "The Power to G.R.O.W. in Hard Times."  We will focus on Worship.

"The Moon's Secret" - 5-10-2020 Sermon

On this fifth weekend of the Easter season, the scriptures will be Psalm 24:1-6 and Matthew 20:1-16. Pastor Brad's sermon is titled, "The Moon's Secret" and reminds us, as Jesus does, that perspective is dicey business.

"Our Story" - Worship 5-31-2020

This is one of the weekends we celebrate our 175 years as a faith community in Sun Prairie.  Sandy Kintner will be with us in character as the Rev. William Ames, the first appointed pastor to Sun Prairie. The scripture is from Acts 2:1-4.  We will continue this weekend with our series "The Power to G.R.O.W. in Hard Times" where we will focus on Our story.

"Never Alone" - 5-17-2020 Sermon

On this sixth weekend of the Easter season, the scriptures will be Psalm 66:8-20 and John 14:15-21. Pastor Jenny's sermon is titled, "Never Alone."  We will continue this weekend with our series "The Power to G.R.O.W. in Hard Times."  We will focus on Relationships and on the awareness and importance of talking about mental health.  Members of our Mental Health Awareness Team will share in worship leadership.

"Gratitude for the Shepherd" - 5-3-2020 Sermon

This will be the 4th weekend of the Easter season, which is called Good Shepherd weekend.  The scriptures from the beloved 23rd Psalm and the Gospel of John 10:1-10 will provide images of Jesus as our guiding Shepherd. Pastor Jenny's sermon is titled, "Gratitude for the Shepherd."

"When the Road is Uncertain" - 4-26-2020 Sermon

This week's worship scriptures are Psalm 116:1-4, 12-19 and Luke 24:13-35.  We will travel on the Emmaus Road with Jesus.  Pastor Jenny's sermon is titled, "When the Road is Uncertain."

"Laughter for Hard Times" - 4-19-2020

Laughter is a gift from God to help us in when hard times hit.  This week's worship scripture is from Genesis 18:1-15.

"Carrying Jesus" - Palm Sunday Sermon

This is Palm Sunday weekend and the beginning of Holy Week before the celebration of Easter.  The scriptures will come from Philippians 2:5-11 and Matthew 21:1-11.  Pastor Jenny's sermon is titled "Carrying Jesus."
