"Hold onto What is Good" - Sermon 8-30-2020

"Harvesting the Blessings in the Midst of Chaos" - Sermon 8-16-2020

The scripture this weekend is from Psalm 67.  This week we will hear stories of gratitude from our virtual Vacation Bible School as Director of Christian Education Amanda Hinthorn explores a Psalm of gratitude and helps us think through harvesting the blessings in the midst of our chaotic lives. 

"Be Encouraged" - Sermon 8-9-2020

The scripture this weekend will be Matthew 14:22-33. The Gospel reading is the wonderful story of Jesus walking on the water, calming the storm and saving and reassuring the disciples.  This will be a wonderful message of encouragement for us to hear as we live in the midst of many storms swirling around us in life. 

"A Front Row Seat to God's Abundance"

The scriptures this weekend will be Psalm 17:1-7, 15 and Matthew 14:13-21. The Gospel reading is the familiar story of the feeding of the 5,000.  Pastor Jenny's sermon is titled, A Front Row Seat to God's Abundance. 

"Seek God Always" - July 26, 2020

This weekend we will conclude our focus on the Book of Psalms in our July sermon series called "Being Grateful in All Seasons."  We will hear a portion of Psalm 105 and remember the places of gratitude in our own lives and in our life together as God's people.  The scriptures will be Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, 11 and Psalm 105:1-11, 45.  My sermon is titled, "Seek God Always."

"Being Grateful in All Seasons" - July 19, 2020

Pastor Brad will preach from Psalm 121.  Where do you turn in difficult times that all of us experience?  For the psalmist, the answer leaves no room for doubt.  The psalmist answers, "My help comes from the Lord, maker and heaven and earth."  But what does that mean in concrete terms?  That's the question we'll explore in this week's message.

We will continue focusing on the Book of Psalms in our July sermon series called "Being Grateful in All Seasons."  This weekend's Psalm will be Psalm 119:105-112. Pastor Jenny's sermon title is Spontaneous Gifts of Gratitude.

Our scripture is from Genesis 21:8-21.  The Genesis scripture is about Hagar, the servant, and her son being cast into the wilderness and yet God opening her eyes to see the provision and blessings of God.  Pastor Jenny's sermon is titled "When Our Eyes Are Open." 

"From Suffering to Hope" - June 14, 2020

This is our Reconciling weekend in which we are celebrating being a Reconciling church that extends a wide welcome to all God's people.  We continue in our series "Challenged by Difference."   Our scripture is Romans 5:1-8.  Pastor Jenny's sermon is titled "From Suffering to Hope."  

"Challenged by Difference" - June 7, 2020

This is Trinity weekend, when we recognize God as our Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer.  It is also the Pentecost season.  We are starting a two-week series called "Challenged by Difference."  Pastor Jenny's sermon this week will focus on race. Together we’ll look to the scriptures and consider what role we can play in learning more about race and how we can be part of the healing in our communities and our world.

"Overwhelming Joy" - 5-24-2020 Sermon

On this last weekend of the Easter season, the scriptures will be Psalm 47 and Luke 24:44-53. Pastor Jenny's sermon is titled, "Overwhelming Joy."  The Gospel reading will share the story of the Ascension of Christ.  We will continue this weekend with our series "The Power to G.R.O.W. in Hard Times."  We will focus on Worship.

"The Moon's Secret" - 5-10-2020 Sermon

On this fifth weekend of the Easter season, the scriptures will be Psalm 24:1-6 and Matthew 20:1-16. Pastor Brad's sermon is titled, "The Moon's Secret" and reminds us, as Jesus does, that perspective is dicey business.
