"We've Heard This Before" - Sermon 11-22-2020

This is the last weekend before the start of the Advent season and is called Christ the King weekend.  The scripture this weekend will be Matthew 25:31-46.  Pastor Jenny's sermon is titled, "We've Heard This Before."  Our gospel passage will open us to think about who is our God and who is our neighbor and are we living as followers of Jesus?

"Moses Prayed for the People" - Sermon 11-15-2020

The scripture this weekend will be Numbers 21:4-9.  Pastor Brad's sermon is titled, "Moses Prayed for the People." 

How do we find healing and wholeness?  The Israelites found out the hard way.

 

"Sometimes Foolish, Sometimes Wise" - Sermon 11-8-2020

The scriptures this weekend will be Psalm 78:1-7 and Matthew 25:1-13.  The Gospel reading will share a story about the kingdom of God through Jesus' parable of the wise and foolish bridesmaids.  Pastor Jenny's sermon is titled, "Sometimes Foolish, Sometimes Wise." 

We will also welcome five people who are either joining or affiliating with SPUMC.

"Don't Stop Giving Thanks" - Sermon 11-1-2020

The scriptures in our All-Saints' worship will be Ephesians 1:15-23.  Pastor Jenny's sermon is titled, "Don't Stop Giving Thanks." 

"The Devil in the Deep Blue Sea" - Sermon 10-25-2020

We will continue in our stewardship focus for the month of October, with our theme of 175 Years of Gratitude.  We will hear from our Wisconsin Conference Bishop Hee-Soo Jung and the gratitude he shares for SPUMC.

 

The scripture this weekend will be Mark 1:9-13.  Pastor Brad's sermon is titled, "The Devil in the Deep Blue Sea." 

"Thanking God Always" -Sermon - Oct 18, 2020

We will continue in our stewardship focus for the month of October, with our theme of 175 Years of Gratitude.  We will hear from Deb and Rick Mulhern as they express their gratitude for SPUMC and the ministry we share.    

 

The scripture this weekend will be 1 Thessalonians 1:1-8.  Pastor Jenny's sermon is titled "Thanking God Always." 

"Practice These Things" - Sermon10-11-2020

We will continue in our stewardship focus for the month of October, with our theme of 175 Years of Gratitude.  We will hear from Alex and Cassi Benedict as they express the gratitude they find in being part of SPUMC.    

The scripture this weekend will be Philippians 4:1-9.  Pastor Jenny's sermon is titled "Practice These Things." 

"Grateful for the Cornerstone" - Sermon 10-4-2020

This weekend is World Communion weekend, a time when we remember and give thanks for the Sacrament of Communion that we share with our Christian sisters and brothers around the world.  You will want to have bread and juice or water ready to share together in this Sacrament during worship.  You may want to try a different kind of bread than you would typically eat as a symbol of our diversity as God's people.

"Faith Requires a Change of Heart" - Sermon 9-27-2020

This weekend, we will conclude our September worship series called "Back to Faith."  As students, teachers and staff have gone back to school in challenging ways during this pandemic time, we have been sharing in worship about coming back to our faith as our source of strength and hope.  The scripture will be from Matthew 21:23-32.  Pastor Jenny's sermon is titled "Faith Requires a Change of Heart." 

"Back to Basics" - Sermon 9-20-2020

This weekend, we will continue our September worship series called "Back to Faith."  As students, teachers and staff have gone back to school in challenging ways during this pandemic time, we will share in worship about coming back to our faith as our source of strength and hope.  The scripture will be John 13:12-17.  Pastor Brad's sermon is titled "Back to School."  What do "Back to Basics" and the Bible have in common?
